sea point promenade safety for runners and walkers

In a bid to enhance safety along the coastline, the Sea Point Fresnaye Bantry Bay Ratepayers & Residents Association (SFB) is thrilled to announce its daily security walk initiative, conducted in association with Avenue Response. This collaborative effort aims to provide a secure environment for those making use of the promenade and beaches, ensuring peace of mind during their visits.

From 7 am to 10 am, Monday to Friday, a vigilant team from Avenue Response – sponsored by SFB as part of our Safety & Cleanliness Initiative – will patrol the area between Pavilion and Three Anchor Bay, monitoring activities and providing an extra layer of safety for residents and visitors making use of the promenade for their daily walk, run or cycle.

Equipped with officers on bicycles and surveillance vans, the initiative promises heightened security measures, ensuring the well-being of all who enjoy the beachfront. Additionally, attendees are encouraged to download the free mobile panic button app for added security during these hours, further reinforcing safety measures.

For those seeking further information, interested individuals can contact Avenue Response at 021 434 6400 or join the WhatsApp beachfront group for real-time updates.

Over-and-above Avenue Response, the SFB would also like to thanks the following sponsors for their involvement with the initiative:
